So here it is, fellow dino nerds: Ancient Era Artistry's Inaugural Year in Review. 2022 was a wild ride for us here at the Archosaur Asylum (Ancient Era studio). I'd love to say that we improved over previous years by some magnificent, awe-inspiring factor or exceeded the last year's earnings by some astounding exponent, but alas, neither of those things occurred.
Slow down, now loyal compadre. No need to feel bad or moisten me up with tears of pity. 2022 was Ancient Era Artistry's first year in existence. Not only that, we only became a thing in June of this year... so what's that, like six months?
I don't want to go around tooting my own horn here, but I am pretty darn happy with what one might call auspicious beginnings. We created eight unique characters and twenty-three model kits in those six months.
We have partnered with two major distributors (Lana Time Shop and Dan's Dinosaurs) and had our work in the hands of several master painters (Shane Foulkes, Jaume Bonnin, Javier Peces, Jakrid Sangjak, Ben Van Steenberg, Don Suratos, and Jagsaurus). We have been reviewed and featured on two major Youtube channels (Don Suratos Minis & Mecha and Andy's Dinosaur Reviews). Not only that but our "Right Where it Ends" 1:35 scale torosaurus combatant diorama was reviewed in Prehistoric Times Magazine (a glowing review, I must say). Sean Kotz, veteran model builder and painter will review the same model after building and painting it in the Prehistoric Times Magazine Fall Publication. Sean says he will call it "One of the best kits of 2022." Now that is something.
Additionally, we have been blessed with copious orders requiring us and enabling us to grow our bank of premium 3d printers. Finally, we end the year with a licensing agreement with a major manufacturer to produce a diorama with the full unadulterated power of a production factory. I can't tell you what it is, but it will be BIG and exhilarating. These will be 1:20 and 1:35 kits made in liquid cast resin and professionally packaged. They will be offered as a kit, and in a built-up, painted version.
We hope to see a lot of you in 2023. Expect Ancient Era Artistry to come out swinging.
Happy Holidays, and have a safe and magnificent New Years' celebration.
